On 10th and 13th Sept 2022, Rise Foundation completed 12th Miyawaki Afforestation in MCD park , Sector 7 Dwarka.
Rise Foundation did MoU with MCD for developing a 3000sq ft area of Flt Lft Sunit Mohanty Memorial Park ,Sector -7, Dwarka. The whole project was completed in two phases. 1st phase partially sponsored by Air Force and Naval Officers Enclave (AFNO) CGHS and Flt Lft Sunit Mohanty Trust . Approx 500 saplings plantation done on 10th Sept with volunteers from AFNOE CGHS and from Dwarka.
2nd phase of plantation for 1000Sq ft area (300 plants) is sponsored by Air Visatara under CSR activity carried out on 13th Sept 2022. The leadership team and other staff from Visatra participated in plantation drive.
The Miyawaki forestation method is a unique way to create an urban forest and is pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki. With this method of plantation, an urban forest can grow within a short span of 20-30 years while a conventional forest takes around 200-300 years to grow naturally. In the Miyawaki technique, various native species of plants are planted close to each other so that the greens receive sunlight only from the top and grow upwards than sideways. As a result, the plantation becomes approximately 30 times denser, grows 10 times faster and becomes maintenance-free after a span of 3 years.
राइज फाउंडेशन ने ब्रह्मा अपार्टमेंट में द्वारका का पहला मियावाकी वन लगया था। ये पर्यावरण संरक्षण की राह में पॉजिटिव कदम है।
लेकिन हम सब देश वासियों को देश के सघन वनों को कम से कम क्षति पहुँचाने की कोशिश करनी चाहिए। मियावाकी वनों का तभी लाभ सही अर्थों में होगा, जब देश के सघन वन प्रदेश व जैव विविधता संरक्षित रहेगी। देश को 33%वन कुल भूभाग में संरक्षित रखने और उसको बढ़ाने का बीड़ा उठाना होगा। विकास का मॉडल हिमालय समेत पूरे देश के वनों व प्राकृतिक संसाधनों को संरक्षित करने का हो ऐसी आवाज उठानी है। विकास आज बहुत सहज हो चला है। लेकिन वन प्रान्तर एक लंबी उद्विकास की प्रक्रिया के माध्यम से पनपता है।
इसके लिए हम सब को एक साथ आगे आना है। जितने सघन वन देश में होंगे ,उतना ही वातावरण शुद्ध और स्वछ होगा। प्राकृतिक वैविध्य ही पर्यावरण की असली कुंजी है।
देश तभी विकसित सही अर्थों में होगा, जब देश जल जंगल जमीन संरक्षित रहेंगे। हम सब देश वासियों को हिमालय में 3000 मीटर की ऊंचाई से ऊपर वाले क्षेत्रों को विशेष रूप से संरक्षित रखने और उनमें कम से कम मानव गतिविधियों व निर्माण के मॉडल को अपनाना ही होगा। आज हिमालय के हज़ारों प्राकृतिक स्रोत सूखने के कगार पर है। इस बात को हम हमेशा याद रखे। इसलिए चिपको आंदोलन का ये नारा सदैव हम सभी को प्रेरणा देता रहेगा।
