Why Mulching is Important!!

” Trees are a natural teacher and they can show us how we are connected to our natural world.

” Today team RISE Foundation (NGO) Madhukar Varshney & Munish Kundra did mulching at #badusarai #miyawakiforest site using dry leaves from Brahma Apartments Sec 7 Dwarka.

Definition : Mulch is any material that is spread or laid over the surface of the soil as a covering – but organic mulches specifically help to improve the soil’s fertility, as they decompose.

The benefits of mulching are as follows:

1. Soil will retain water for longer time I.e. it will slow the evaporation.

2. It will stop or slow down the weeds on site

3. Later on these leaves will turn into compost

4. Safe disposal of horticulture waste.

Mulching is an important part of generating and maintaining the rich soil we need to sustain our miyawaki site.
